Did you go to church this Sunday?
Psalm 122 (English Standard Version)
Let Us Go to the House of the LORD
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1I was glad when they said to me,
"Let us go to the house of the LORD!"
2Our feet have been standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem

Did you receive a message?
Romans 10:17 (English Standard Version)
17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Did the message stir your heart?
Psalm 143:8 (New King James Version)
8 Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.

Do you remember anything about the message?
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Did you find a way to share the message with someone?
Matthew 28:19-20 (New King James Version)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

We take seriously this “Great Commission”. We clearly understand the need to prepare so that we can conduct ourselves in ways that bring glory to the most high God. We know that there is much more to being a Christian than going to church, so we come together to grow in the knowledge of God.

Yes, church is fellowship for us and we enjoy being in the company of Christians. Yes, our hearts are stirred when we hear a sermon that seems tailor made for our situation (funny how often the pastor picks a message that answers a need she didn’t know existed). But we understand that the Great Commission demands that we each are missionaries who provide opportunities for others to hear of the risen Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-12 (New King James Version)
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

He has equipped us. It is our responsibility to build upon our gifts and find our work in the kingdom. Church services, bible study and personal worship all provide tool to prepare ourselves for the work of ministry.

May God Forever Be a Blessing in Your Life!!!
