8.Jehovah-shalom. “the God of peace.”

8.God is Jehovah-shalom. This name means “the God of peace.” God could never give to others a peace that exceeds understanding if He Himself were not perfect, unfailing peace.

(Philippians 4:6-7) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
{7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(Colossians 3:14-15) But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
{15} And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
(1 Thessalonians 5:22-24) Abstain from every form of evil.
{23} Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
{24} He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

(Isaiah 26:3-4) You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
{4} Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength

Our God of peace requires active participation from believers in the process of maintaining and spreading His peace. “Be anxious for nothing” requires active trust in God. “By prayer and supplication with thanksgiving”, not with apathy and ingratitude. Abstain from evil, pass up opportunities to do wrong. Keep your mind on God, trust in Him.

Father, God, I pray for a better understanding of my need to engage in the promotion of Your peace. I ask the Holy Spirit to guard my speech and help me be an agent of peace. I thank you for every opportunity to be an example of The Way in my daily life.

Thank You for the peace which surpasses all understanding and the guarding of my mind against the evils of this world.

Thank you for Your incomparable peace. Amen

May God Forever Be a Blessing in Your Life!!!
